Tug & Barge

MKS is an integrated marine company involved in ship-building, ship-repairing, ship-chartering, and other marine related services. We are based in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, one of the nation’s leading maritime centers and busiest ports.  East Kalimantan has long been known as an area rich in resources such as coal, timber and palm, thus proving that transportation services for such resources to be very vital for the economy.

MKS has been established since 1990s to accommodate such transportation services with the main focus in providing our customers with competitive and reliable transport solutions. We work closely with our customers and keep a keen eye on the market in order to respond to constantly changing demands.  

Since incorporated, we own and operate more than 30 sets of tugs and barges mainly comprises of 300 feet barges towed by 2000 horse-powered tugs operating in Kalimantan with loading capacity of approximately 7,500 tons of coal per barge.
